|Amarider is instrumental in the creation of various trail parks around Southern Africa
Our current focus project is the Boy Louw Sport Fields next to the Berg River in Paarl, Western Cape. Launched in July 2012, almost 200 youngsters raced in the Spur League event held at the park.
These Trail Parks are developed to host events of the blossoming Spur Schools League while leaving an annual legacy in that users can access the park year-round.
Modelled around similar international models, the Boy Louw Park is set to include:
1) A 3km schools mtb race track
2) Pump track
3) Dirt Jump Area
4) BMX track
5) Stunt area
6) Tots track
7) and pull all of the above components together with an after-schools cycling program.
To get a good idea of what we'd like to achieve, have a look of the recently completed Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, Colorado in the USA.
Amarider visited the Valmont site in October 2012 and we're brimming with ideas to make the site in Paarl a world class facility.
Key outcomes of the project includes:
1) Free Access
2) Progressive riding opportunities
3) A safe environment
4) Environmental improvement of the site
Our thanks go the Drakenstein Municipality for their shared vision and support.
