Vision and Mision
Amarider is a mountain bike advocacy organisation aimed at improving mountain bike opportunities on the African continent.
Based on the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) advocacy model, the NPO was founded by South African based mountain bike advocates to create a voice and resource for African mtb issues.
With a strong tourism vision, it is the intention of Amarider to create sustainable models that could eventually benefit mountain bikers in countries across the entire continent and make Africa a premier mountain bike destination.

Funding
1) Memberships and donations
The objective is to increase our membership and partner base in 2009 and to spread the word!
In the 2008 season, we have raised more than R100 000 thanks to our committed members and private donors.

2) Sponsorships
Up to date we have simply not had the time to canvas the entire industry and have resorted initially to target our contacts in the industry. We can now focus our efforts on further marketing the organisation to potential members and sponsors – by selling our success stories.
Apart from the founding sponsors, we need to target smaller players as well.

3) Consulting and Services
A draft commercial strategy document is in place outlining each and every revenue opportunity to be persued. This ranges from trail consulting to promotion and marketing.

4) Grants (NGO and governmental sources)
The successful 2008 grants we received already emphasise the importance of these sources of revenue and also makes us confident that we can produce the results in terms of the action that is to be expected from an organisation with the ambitions of AMARider.
We cannot be seen only talking about trails – we need to be seen as do-ers.
After our first fully operational season we are already doing the stuff!

5) Events
Events offer some of the best revenue creation opportunities and Amarider will partner with organisers to create equity within the event spectrum

Why Join?
Some benefits of joining Amarider:

1) More trails. More than 70% of the past year's work in Tokai and
Jonkershoek was funded through Amarider fundraising efforts.
2) You contribute directly to our advocacy fund that allows us to follow up
on land access negotiations, attend meetings etc.
3) A strong member base gives us more clout in these negotiations, so by
joining you strengthen our voice.
4) As an event participant you get discounts to Amarider events (like the
Amarider 100 Miler and most Dirtopia events. More to follow soon
5)  You are automatically a CyclingSA member and we can facilitate any licenses you may require for events.
