AMA urges you to contribute to the newly formed KZN Mountain Bike Advocacy Fund to enable us to fast track shorter term developments and projects as opportunities present themselves. Our aim would be to create a fund to service clubs and initiatives in the form of grants and administrative support.

Bigger projects will be allocated individual project status with an independent cost centre and local individuals and companies can then support projects in their area.

We are in the process of scoping potential projects and doing a 'needs analysis' for the region. This fund will be directed to 'common ground' projects that will benefit a broad base of riders and is not intended to initiate projects with a commercial interest.

Typically we'll be looking at opportunities on municipal or state lands and we urge you to assist us in identifying potential sites for skills areas and singletrack development.

Cases of development on private lands will be considered on merit. For example, where a small investment in singletrack could potentially unlock a major trail system - we might find it appropriate to activate intersecting sections of private lands.

This Fund should appeal to any individual or business involved with the sport in KZN.

It's the right thing to do!
